Since 2009, I have invested over $40,000 of my own money and approximately 10,000 hours of my own time to create, lay-out, edit, transit, update, and otherwise run this free site for the Lexington area.
This effort worked so long as I was a tenured professor at Bluegrass Community & Technical College, where the readings from students, faculty, staff and community writers (over 100 local writers showcased in total) were much valued in my classroom. In 2023, however, my college’s then-Vice President, then-President, Associate VP of Organizational Development, and a few departmental colleagues decided that they no longer wanted my services and pushed me out of the college, in part due to the coverage that North of Center has long provided.
Consequently, this site really needs your support. Here are two ways that you can do that:

(2) Even more needed, however, is monetary support. If you can spare a donation or to purchase a paid subscription through Shatty Town!, this work can continue.
